Terrifier is creepy-clown splatter flick that excels at both thanks to some creative editing and an uncanny performance by David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown.

From Epic-Pictures.com:

Based on a character from the cult anthology, All Hallows Eve, the gory 80’s slasher throwback takes place on Halloween night as the demented Art the Clown sets his sights on terrorizing two girls and anyone else that gets in his way.

There is one thing that I have to get out of the way first, I don’t know if it was the blu-ray authoring, or my 4k television but some of the black backgrounds seemed to be very noisy and blown out. When I checked out the DVD on a 720 monitor it looked fine but the blacks in the background bleed into the Jenna Kanell’s black costume. I’ve reached out to the distributor but haven’t heard back. This is a nit pick but you might notice it and you would not be alone. While I was watching it I assumed it could have also been a color correction issue, but, maybe, that was me distracting myself from the super weird, silent, blood-soaked, clown.

The film technically has a story but it felt like a decal where a decal was not necessary. The story is a clown works over some pizza guys, a few women, and some night workers. That’s what you need. It was similar to Friday the 13th were they talk, at the camp, about a weirdo who kills people at a camp who then kills people at the camp, like an injection, the needle is necessary only to inject the drug that creates an anxiety before the effect.

Like I said earlier Thornton creeped me out. His fills every shot with a magnetism that will lure you in long enough for him to tear out your throat, it is valuable because the movie also employs the rope-a-dope jump scare tactic. Some eerie clips will lead to a pee your pants moment or to an innocent scene change. This movie is not for everyone but you have to give this movie props as an indie horror film the effects are incredible, as near as I can tell everything looked like a physical effect and there is some brutal splatters
