Day two of the Summer Film Fest includes Phenomena, The Zookeeper’s Wife, Two-Lane Blacktop and Cannibal Holocaust. Lets start by saying I hate one poster.

Summer Film Festival 2017 – Day One

I watched two episodes of Out 1 before moving onto shorter features. I don’t have the necessary constitution to watch a 13-hour French New Wave masterpiece in one sitting. Back at it after church tomorrow.

Summer Film Fest 2017

Blu-ray Review – Donnie Darko – Arrow Video

Long-time reader will note, when I made my Top 15 of 2016 I stopped myself from adding many region-locked releases & Donnie Darko pulled the short straw.

Pink Flamingos Director: John Waters  Screenplay: John Waters Minutes: 93 Year: 1972 Score: 6.33 Release: Warner Archive DVD Calling this film “a pile of garbage” may be the highest praise anyone can give to this John Waters classic. It is a pile of garbage. From WBShop.com: Director John Waters breaks every rule of good filmmaking […]

Blu-ray Review – Vision Quest – Warner Archive

Blu-ray Review – Caltiki: The Immortal Monster – Arrow Video

Caltiki: The Immortal Monster Director: Riccardo Freda and Mario Bava  Screenplay: Filippo Sanjust and Riccardo Freda Minutes: 76 Year: 1959 Score: 6.73 Release: Arrow Video There are two names which immediately jump out at me when I think if Italian horror/sci-fi flicks, Dario Argento and Mario Bava. There are more, they may be better, but […]
